Leave of Absence
Continuing classified undergraduate students in good academic standing (fully admitted and neither on probation nor subject to suspension or dismissal) may apply for a leave of absence for a specified period of one or two semesters (summer sessions excluded). Your college or school will need to approve your leave.
You may not take more than two semesters of leave during your undergraduate career; additional semesters of leave will be granted only under exceptional circumstances (i.e. military deployment). Students are advised that they are not officially enrolled at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa while on leave.
Note: Graduate and post-baccalaureate unclassified students should check with Graduate Division.
