Registration Override Codes Chart

In order for students to enroll in restricted courses as specified in the course listings of the UH Mānoa Catalog and Check Class Availability, they must obtain approval from the respective college, department, program or instructor. During a student's registration session, error messages will inform them of conditions that exist which prevent them from enrolling in the class, such as if the course section is already closed (see chart). The appropriate Mānoa override code must be entered into their student record by the authorized representative before they will be able to register for the course. Students may view these codes on their Check My Registration Status page in MyUH. Please remember that students must still register for the course during their registration period.
Note: You must only select override codes that begin with 'Mānoa' (see chart below).

Mānoa Course Approval Override code will allow students into any OPEN section of a restricted course.
Contact College, Department, Program or Instructor offering course (as specified in the course comment in the course listings). |
Restriction: The section of the course is already filled.
Note: Students who are given the closed class override must register for this course using Quick Registration/Add or Drop My Classes page. (The Search and Register for Classes method cannot be used because it will display the affected course section as closed and not available for registration.) |
You may add yourself to the electronic waitlist while registering online. During the Add period (first 10 days of the semester) instructors/department representatives may enter override codes for closed sections, when waitlists are no longer in effect.
Mānoa Closed Class Override code will allow students into a SPECIFIC CLOSED section. It will also override courses that are restricted (see above).

Restriction: Undergraduates taking a graduate level course (courses numbered 600 and above) require approval.

Mānoa Level Override code will allow students into the higher level course.
Contact Department Chairperson of the course.
Note: The student may also need to obtain Mānoa Course Approval Override code or Mānoa Closed Class Override code if course is restricted or closed. |
Restriction: A non-Law student taking a course reserved for Law students. A non-Medical student taking a course reserved for Medical students.

Law courses are restricted to only Law students.
Medicine courses are restricted to only Medical students. |
Restriction: Classes with overlapping meeting times require approval.

Mānoa Time Override code will allow students into two overlapping classes.
Obtain both instructors' written permission and obtain approval from your College Student Academic Services Dean's Office.
Note: The student may also need to obtain Mānoa Course Approval Override code or Mānoa Closed Class Override code if course is restricted or closed.

Restriction: Corequisite courses must be taken during the same semester.
Note: Students must enter the course reference numbers (CRN) for corequisite courses at the same time using the Add/Drop Courses link. |
Mānoa Corequisite Override code will allow students into the course without registering for the designated corequisite course.
