PAC Tip:

Application season is here at last. Aim to submit your applications the first day! The earlier the better (especially for schools with rolling admissions), but be sure that your application is of high quality.

Mandatory Advising

If you are a freshman or a sophomore student, you are required to receive mandatory advising in each of your first four semesters here at UHM.  If you have not declared a major, are a pre-major (except for Pre-Psychology, Pre-Nursing, and Pre-Dental Hygiene), or are a Biology major, you may fulfill your mandatory advising requirement through one of our mandatory advising sessions. If you have declared a major, or are Pre-Psychology, Pre-Nursing, or Pre-Dental Hygiene, you will need to see your major advisor to get cleared for mandatory advising! However, if you are interested in health or law, we highly recommend that you also attend one of our mandatory advising sessions. The purpose of mandatory advising is to make sure you are aware of graduation requirements, college resources, and opportunities.

Mandatory Advising at PAC for

Fall 2013 registration is now CLOSED!

Here is a brief overview of each of the mandatory advising sessions. For more information on how to sign up, click on the option that applies to you.

Freshman Year Mandatory Advising Offered How to Attend
First Semester Four-Year Academic Plan Fall only walk in or make appointment
Second Semester Sophomore Experience Spring only sign up for a 30-minute session
Sophomore Year Mandatory Advising Offered How to Attend
Third Semester Curriculum Vitae Fall only sign up for a 30-minute session
Fourth Semester Self-Evaluation Spring only walk in or make appointment

You should be completing mandatory advising in the order listed above.  If, for any reason, you missed one of these sessions and are now “off track” (i.e., you are a 3rd semester student who has not yet completed the Sophomore Experience), we recommend that you speak to a PAC Peer Advisor to find out which mandatory advising session is most appropriate for you.

If your Mandatory Advising registration hold has not been lifted, and you have not completed Mandatory Advising, please visit your college advisor for more information.

To check your registration status: Go to MyUH Portal and click on "View My Holds"; if you have no holds listed, you are cleared for registration.
