Hawaiian Taro Patent Discussions
The University of Hawaiʻi filed terminal disclaimers with the U.S. Patent Office that effectly dissolve all university proprietary or ownership interests in three taro varieties created by UH research work. The disclaimers were filed on June 16, 2007. As of that date, neither the university nor anyone else "owns" an interest in the taro varieties.
