UHM Faculty Career Pathways Study

July 10, 2013

In Spring 2012, UHM began gathering data about faculty attitudes and opinions regarding workplace satisfaction, the tenure and promotion process, satisfaction with research and administrative support and diversity issues on campus. The Faculty Career Pathway survey instrument was sent to 2674 faculty; 521 faculty completed the survey.

All survey responses were anonymous; descriptive statistics are presented in a report to the campus in aggregate for colleges where this level of reporting does not compromise the identity of individual respondents. The report summarizes results by sex and rank of respondents and also includes comparisons between STEM and non-STEM faculty.

Questions regarding the study and/or results can be directed to Dr. Susan Hippensteele, hippenst@hawaii.edu or 956-2299.
