HONOLULU — The Office of Capital Improvements at the University of Hawaiʻi is seeking expressions of interest and requests for qualifications (RFQ) from developers of medical research and medical care buildings, particularly comprehensive cancer centers with research and out-patient care components, for a new facility containing approximately 360,000 sq. feet of building area for its Cancer Research Center of Hawaiʻi.

The project is proposed to be developed and built on a vacant 5.5 acre site owned by the State of Hawaiʻi in Kakaʻako, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

The objective of the RFQ is for UH to identify and select a developer to enter into a comprehensive real estate agreement, including planning, design, finance, construction and management, for the project through a two-step process.

After expressions of interest and qualifications have been submitted from developers, a short list of three to five of the most qualified developers will be invited to submit proposals to develop the project. The proposals will be evaluated and one developer will be recommended to the University‘s Board of Regents for approval.

The deadline to submit an RFQ is on or before 3 p.m. HST on January 5, 2005. To obtain RFQ requirements and information, visit http://www.hawaii.edu/oci/projects.html.

Submissions and questions should be directed to:
