Recognized climate expert Chip Fletcher, PhD, will discuss several aspects of climate change as part of the Community Forum in Chemistry series at Windward Community College on Thursday, September 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Hale ‘Ākoakoa 103. The forum is free and open to the public. Parking is free.

Topics of climate change in Hawai‘i to be discussed in an interactive Q&A format will include: extreme weather, sea-level rise, reef bleaching, ecosystem impacts, declining rainfall, El Niño, Hawai‘i’s weather system and natural climate change.

Charles “Chip” Fletcher, PhD is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Geology and Geophysics at the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Technology (SOEST), University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Fletcher teaches graduate and undergraduate courses emphasizing climate change on the Pacific Islands and coastal geology. His work is published in over 50 international scientific journal articles and recently published three books including Climate Change: What the Science Tells Us.
