Hawai‘i Community College is pleased to announce it will begin offering an Associate of Science in Natural Science (ASNS) degree at the Pālamanui campus in Kailua-Kona beginning in the Fall 2017 semester.

“We are thrilled to begin offering the Natural Science program in West Hawai‘i,” said Hawai‘i Community College Chancellor Rachel Solemsaas. “It’s an incredibly valuable degree that provides a clear pathway to bachelor’s programs in science, technology, engineering and math.”

“At Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui we have highly accomplished science professors who are passionate about science and teaching,” said Hawai‘i CC – Pālamanui Director Marty Fletcher. “It’s a great learning environment where students can begin a successful academic journey.”

Scholarships are available for qualified students who are part of the initial group of ASNS students at Hawai‘i CC – Pālamanui. The scholarships can potentially provide the equivalent of about 80 percent of tuition costs.

Students who graduate with an ASNS can be automatically accepted into bachelor’s degree programs at University of Hawai'i campuses as juniors. The ASNS degree is a great foundation for entering bachelor’s degree programs in Astronomy, Biology, Computer Science, Engineering, Pre-Pharmacy, Marine Science, Agriculture, Animal Science, Nursing, and more.

Benefits of pursuing an ASNS at Hawai‘i CC – Pālamanui:

  • Study in brand-new labs with high-quality faculty.
  • Experience a welcoming learning environment with small class sizes.
  • Save money with lower tuition rates.
  • Study close to home in a world-class natural setting.
  • Create a strong foundation of knowledge to help you pursue your dreams.
