Hawai'i Music Institute Presents 'Ukulele 2004

Slack-key guitar sessions recently added to jam-packed music weekend

KANEʻOHE, Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi — The Hawaiʻi Music Institute at Windward Community College presents ʻUkulele 2004, July 10-11, 2004, which now includes slack-key guitar sessions in the scheduled lineup. Coordinated by Windward CC professor and slack-key master, Ron Loo, the event returns this summer offering a weekend of workshops and music-making for people of all ages and levels of experience who wish to polish their skills and experience in ʻukulele and slack-key guitar playing with some of the most respected musicians in the industry.

ʻUkulele 2004 offers an unprecedented opportunity to learn from a stellar group of ʻukulele and slack-key masters, including such notable artists as Benny Chong, George Kuo, Kahauanu Lake, Ron Loo, Gordon Mark and Byron Yasui.

The registration fee of $90 covers lunch and sessions for the two-day workshop. Registration to attend either Saturday or Sunday workshops is available for $50 or individual sessions at $30 each. Seniors, 65 years and older, receive a 20 percent discount.
