HONOLULU — The College of Education‘s Rehabilitation Counselor Education Program at UH Mānoa was recently awarded a long-term training grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA). A limited number of scholarships are available for eligible scholars. If selected, each scholar will receive tuition support and a small stipend while in the program.

The RSA Scholar's program is designed to increase the supply of qualified vocational rehabilitation counselors to assist people with disabilities to obtain quality employment outcomes. Scholars who receive RSA support must agree to work in rehabilitation settings that meet payback requirements.

Applications are currently being accepted for Spring 2005. To be considered, each student must (1) be admitted into the Rehabilitation Counselor Education program; (2) submit a letter of interest for the scholarship that describes the applicant‘s intended employment setting and career goals after graduation; and (3) submit a statement of financial need.
