On Friday, November 18, 2016, the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) at the UH Mānoa Shidler College of Business will host the final event of the Shark Tank competition in the iLab.

Six finalists, who have already won $100, will pitch their innovative ideas to a panel of judges. If a finalist secures two “bite” votes from the judging panel, the competitor will receive $400. The best idea of the night will receive another $500. The event is generously sponsored by Accuity LLP.

Who:        The finalists are:

CyberCANOE Destiny – A hybrid-reality environment that provides 20/20 visual acuity in a 13-foot wide, 320-degree cylindrical structure comprised of tiled passive stereo-capable OLED displays.

Ecoponics – An enhanced aquaponic process that bio-converts food waste into micro-nutrients that nourish and grow organic crops while conserving 90 to 95 percent of the resources consumed in traditional farming methods.

Hot Plate Minder – A device that cuts power to a hot plate or range to prevent hundreds of thousands of fires each year due to unattended cooking.

Interchangeable – A high-quality gardening pruner that blends quality and comfort into one horticultural hand tool by allowing users to change the handles at will.

Nimbus – An atmospheric water generator system that filters and captures naturally occurring water vapor and condenses it into usable water in one step without power.

Press On – A sustainable semi-autonomous coffee vending machine that produces the highest quality of freshly roasted, ground and brewed coffee.
