On Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the UH Mānoa Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship (PACE) will host a Kīpapa i ke Ala lecture featuring Walter A. Dods Jr., former Chairman of the Board of First Hawaiian Bank and current Chairman of Matson Inc.  Dods will sit down for an interview with PACE Executive Director Susan Yamada, and share stories from his book, “Yes! A Memoir of Modern Hawaiʻi.”

Says Yamada, “I am excited to get to know Walter, and ask him to share his experiences about his rise to the top in Hawai‘i’s corporate world. I plan to point to fascinating stories from his book, and extract his thoughts about being intrapreneurial and innovative within a corporation.”

Dods retired as chairman of the Board of First Hawaiian Bank in 2008. He is currently chairman of Matson Inc. and a trustee to the Estate of Samuel Mills Damon. He continues to serve on many corporate and civic boards.
