University of Hawaii—West Oahu Day Celebrates Education in the Leeward and Central Oahu Communities

The University of Hawaiʻi—West Oʻahu (UHWO) will celebrate its annual UH West Oʻahu Day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20. This event is free and open to the public.

With the theme, "A Celebration of Education: Past, Present and Future," UH West Oʻahu Day will focus on the Leeward and Central Oʻahu communities. Activities will include food booths featuring the Leeward Community College Culinary Arts, a Keiki ID booth courtesy of the Honolulu Police Department, craft vendors, a job fair, and a Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi blood drive.

Awards will be presented to outstanding UHWO students and to the winners of the Leeward area schools coloring contest. Community members can receive drop-in assistance from trained UWHO students who will help low income families with their tax returns as part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program from 9 a.m. to noon.
