Real world ethics for lawyers – in areas such as college athletics and medicine - will be included in the topics of four remaining lectures in a free series of public talks running through August 1 at the William S. Richardson School of Law on the UH Mānoa campus.

The annual Will K. Weinstein Conversation lecture series is part of a summer class offered jointly through the Law School and the Shidler College of Business. The topics involve areas where law and business intersect and offer insights into handling the many ethical dilemmas that can arise.

Each summer, Weinstein opens the class to the public for an hour and a half public forum on the topic at hand.

The public lectures are scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Classroom 2 off the central courtyard of the Law School. Each lecture provides 1.5 credit hours for attorneys.

Weinstein has had an illustrious business career, including serving as a Governor of the Midwest Stock Exchange and for five years as a Governor of the American Stock Exchange until its merger with NASDAQ in 1998. He has spent 40 years in the financial services business, and was a member of the Executive Committee of Oppenheimer and Co. and its partner in charge of trading in the 1970s. Today he serves as a financial and investment advisor and money manager to individuals and corporations active in the equity markets.

Weinstein is also a recognized authority on prostate cancer and wrote a book circulated widely in the cancer community, “There is No They – A Journey Through the Labyrinth of Prostate Cancer.”
