“UH West O‘ahu continues to make great strides in partnering with businesses to design programs that meet the needs of its students and the business community,” said Michele Saito, president, Farmers Insurance Hawai‘i. “We are proud to support UH West O‘ahu’s most recent innovative program, the Risk Management and Insurance Program. Our local insurance industry has ample job opportunities in many disciplines of study, and this program will be a valuable resource for students aspiring for successful careers as insurance professionals.”
Hyung Sub Kim, U.S. branch manager of Dongbu Insurance Company added, “Dongbu Insurance is relatively new to Hawai‘i and we are pleased to be a contributing member of Hawai‘i’s insurance industry.”
The Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance provides training in risk management, personal and commercial insurance and prepares students for the licensure examination.
“Farmers Insurance and Dongbu Insurance are leaders in the industry and we are grateful for their support of UH West O‘ahu’s Risk Management and Insurance Certificate Program,” said UH West O‘ahu Chancellor Gene Awakuni. “It is even more important in today’s economy that we are educating students to become qualified professionals in areas where they are needed most and can find gainful employment following graduation.
