Maui Language Institute at the University of Hawai‘i Maui College is holding its 10th annual Rainbow Studies program this summer. The program, which offers courses to match all levels of English proficiency, is designed as a combination of English language study and the cultural discovery of Maui.

This hugely popular program begins with practical English courses in the mornings such as listening techniques and real communication skills. In the afternoons, classes switch to content-based learning with seminars ranging from marine life to volcanic activity to Hawai‘i history, legends and myths. After each seminar, students participate in “living classroom” excursions or activities in which they experience hands-on what they learned in the classroom.

From currently enrolled international students to summer visitors, Rainbow Studies draws a wide array of participants every year. For many people on Maui, it’s the ideal way to introduce our beautiful island to visiting friends and family from abroad.

Space is limited. Early registration discounts extend to July 1. Students may register for one week, two weeks or all three weeks. For more information, e-mail Stephen at outlaw@hawaii.edu or visit our website at http://mauilanguageinstitute.com/
