In celebration of the 50th anniversary of manned spaceflight, Windward Community College’s Hōkūlani Imaginarium presents Astronaut, a new, high-definition fulldome show, beginning April 8 at 7 p.m. Experience a rocket launch from an astronaut’s point of view and explore the amazing worlds of inner and outer space. Open to the public and enjoyed by all ages.

Narrated by Ewan McGregor, Astronaut is a visually stunning show that draws the audience into the world of space travel. Produced by the National Space Centre and presented in high-definition 360 degree fulldome video with explosive surround sound, Astronaut is an experience like nothing on Earth. Audiences will discover the perils that lurk in space as 'Chad,' the show’s test astronaut is subjected to a variety of challenges. Find out if you have what it takes to become an astronaut.

About the Hōkūlani Imaginarium: Hawaiian for Starry Heavens, Windward Community College’s Hōkūlani Imaginarium is a high-tech planetarium and multi-media facility.  The 66-seat theater houses a Definiti 4K fulldome system from Sky-Skan. The new Digital Sky 2 technology allows audiences to experience immersive adventures in a true 360 degree environment. Viewers feel like they are part of the unfolding scene, whether it is falling through a black hole, flying through Saturn’s rings or witnessing the beginnings of the universe.
