APEC Certificate Program for undergraduates and high school students

Under the banner of Advancing Asia-Pacific, and in advance of Honolulu’s hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November 2011, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Summer Sessions, administered by Outreach College, presents the APEC Certificate for Undergraduate Students and the APEC Certificate for High School Students. Completion of the certificate program will provide students with an advanced understanding of international issues and relationships specific to Asia-Pacific, and provide benefits for further educational goals and future employment. The APEC Certificate Program is intended for students interested in international relations, geopolitics, political science, economics, business, ethnic studies, the environment, and leadership, and provides a multi-faceted approach to understanding the issues and challenges facing the Asia-Pacific region. The Certificates combine college courses with lectures, films and opportunities for interaction with distinguished faculty and experts to provide a rich and unique learning experienceCertificates will be issued by the University of Hawai‘i APEC Study Center.

In advance of Honolulu's hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in November 2011, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Summer Sessions, administered by Outreach College, plans an array of programs focusing on the region's potential for peaceful, inclusive and sustainable growth.
 
Drawing from the diverse resources of the university and community, Outreach College presents a dynamic summer of lectures, films, performances, noncredit workshops, and certificate programs for high school and university students. These programs will provide venues for learning about the issues, discussing a wide variety of viewpoints, and cooperating toward greater international understanding.
