International Women's Day Tea at UH Hilo

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and Hawaiʻi Community College celebrates the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day with an international tea party on Tuesday, March 8, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in UH Hilo Campus Center 301. The public is invited to attend.

Tea from all around the world will be served. Guest presenters include Eliah Halpenny, owner of Big Island Tea Company, Anthony Wright of UH Hilo College of Pharmacy, Christopher Jacobson of Hawai‘i CC College of Agriculture, and Lorna Tsutsumi, professor of entomology at UH Hilo. They’ll discuss the agriculture and business behind growing tea, the benefits of tea, and the cosmetic uses for honey. There will also be traditional Japanese music performed on a Koto (harp) by Chisato Sakaguchi.
