Researcher Dr. Susan Rickards presents a free public program on spinner dolphins on Monday, November 29 at 6 p.m. at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo North Hawai‘i Education and Research Center (NHERC) in Honoka‘a.

Rickards, a primary researcher for the Big Island’s Hawai‘i Marine Mammal Consortium, will share unique observations from her studies of a small spinner dolphin community near Midway Atoll in the Northwest Hawaiian Islands. She’ll also compare genetic testing of spinners near the main Hawaiian Islands to those in northwestern atoll communities.

This is the third in a series of presentations coordinated by Dr. Adam Pack of UH Hilo, following programs on humpback whales and Hawaiian monk seals.

Reservations are requested. Call NHERC at 775-8890.
