The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa College of Education (COE) continues to rank among the U.S. News & World Report annual listing of the "Best Graduate Schools." UH Mānoa's COE ranked 50th out of 279 for the report’s upcoming 2011 edition. The survey is based on a weighted average of 11 quality measures, including program quality, GRE scores, acceptance rates, student to faculty ratio, research activity, and program specialties/awards. In the funded research category, the COE ranked fourth, coming in after Vanderbilt University, University of Texas at Austin, and Teachers College - Columbia University.

UH Mānoa's COE Dean Christine Sorensen said, “The high national ranking for the College of Education reflects the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff and the quality of our students. We are particularly proud of our research productivity, and want to recognize the commitment of the faculty to remain on the cutting edge of education knowledge while continuing to produce high quality teachers and education leaders to serve the state. Managing these competing demands is not easy and our faculty deserves a great deal of respect for this achievement.”
