Majid Tehranian, professor of international communications at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, has published a book entitled "Dialogue of Civilizations: A New Peace Agenda For A New Millennium."

The book is co-edited by David W. Chappell, professor of comparative religion at Soka University of America in California and former professor and graduate chair in the Department of Religion at UH Mānoa. It focuses on the United Nations‘ declaration of 2001 as the "Year of Dialogue Among Civilizations," which ironically coincided with the September 11th attacks on the United States.

The volume features a group of distinguished peace scholars from seven different civilizations addressing the promises and perils of our own era. It covers their common and divergent perspectives on global issues and offers concrete policy proposals to meet the challenges of the 21st century. Topics cover religion, science, and civilizations, as well as the confrontation between globalism and terrorism.

"Dialogue of Civilizations: A New Peace Agenda For a New Millennium" is highly recommended for adoption in world civilization, world politics, international communications and peace studies courses. To request a copy, visit www.amazon.com or write to the publisher, I.B. Tauris of London.
