UH Hilo to host women in higher education confabUniversity of Hawaiʻi

The University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo will host an international gathering of women leaders in higher education. The event will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Monday, September 22 in the UH Hilo Performing Arts Center. Due to limited seating, people planning to attend are asked to RSVP by Wednesday, September 10.
"A Global Dialogue: Women in Higher Education" will bring together university presidents and chancellors from around the world, who will share their perspectives on women‘s leadership in higher education.
"We‘re very pleased to be a part of this historic presentation," said Chancellor Rose Tseng. "These women have distinguished themselves at the highest levels of their field on the global stage, and their stories of achievement are very inspiring."
Joining Tseng will be Dr. Chen Naifang, former president, Beijing Foreign Studies University, Dr. Chen Wejia, chair of University Council, Communication University of China, Josefina Castillo Baltodano, president, Marion University; Dr. Mary Jossy Nakandha Okwakol, vice chancellor, Busitema University, Uganda, Dr. Noriko Mizuta, chancellor, Josai University Corporation and president, Josai International University of Japan, Dr. Sandra Harding, vice chancellor, James Cook University, Australia and Dr. Virginia Hinshaw, chancellor of University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa.
The participants will share their personal stories of achievement and discuss how women are playing an increasingly prominent role in shaping higher education during their roundtable discussion moderated by Dr. Luoluo Hong, vice chancellor for student affairs. An international reception for the honored guests will be held on the Center lanai following the event.
