The University Health Services Mānoa (UHSM) has been granted renewal of its accreditation with the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) at the highest level for a three-year term.

Accreditation demonstrates recognition on the part of the AAAHC that UHSM has met, and will continue to maintain throughout the accreditation term, the national standards of an acceptable organization. It requires substantial dedication and effort for an organization to gain accreditation, and the achievement affirms compliance to these standards as well as a commitment to continual self-evaluation and improvement.

In an effort to ensure that the organization provides excellent services to the UHM community, UHSM successfully sought accreditation in 2002, and received three-year renewals in 2005 and 2008. Accreditation for university health centers is voluntary.

Out of the nearly 4,000 university health service centers in the United States, only 10% are accredited.

UHSM is the on-campus health facility for students. It provides general medical clinic services for evaluation and treatment of illness and injuries, preventive medicine, and the specialty clinics of sports medicine, Women's Health Clinic, dermatology, mental health service, and nutritional counseling.

There is a clinical laboratory and a pharmacy on-site. UHSM also has a health promotion program that offer extensive health education programs including general health education, peer education and outreach, student health insurance information, and alcohol/other drug education program. UHSM also participates in academics and training for health professional students.
