Prominent International Astronomer to Speak at UH Hilo

Internationally renowned astronomer Dr. Norio Kaifu will speak on "Life in the Universe" during an address this month at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. Kaifu‘s talk is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.-7:15 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2002 at the UH Hilo Theatre. The event, which is part of the ongoing "Dreams on Mauna Kea series," is free and open to the public.

Kaifu is director general of the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan and the former director of the Big Island-based Subaru Telescope. His talk will include a short film regarding the "Leonid Meteor Shower at the Summit of Mauna Kea."
