The University of Hawai‘i Sea Grant College Program (Hawaiʻi Sea Grant) and partners invite the community to an environmentally focused gathering at Kapukaulua (Baldwin Beach) on April 20, in celebration of Earth Day week.
The gathering will share updates on the Kapukaulua Dune Restoration Project, discuss the science behind and the importance of dune restoration, and offer hands-on opportunities to enhance and learn more about our unique ecosystems from ridge to reef. Learn more about the project online.
Participants will learn about the progress of dune restoration, coastal resilience efforts and ongoing stewardship activities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a demonstration on water quality testing by the Haʻikū Community Association – Haʻikū Streams Project and to grow their knowledge of our watersheds and dune systems through some fun activities.
WHEN: Monday, April 20, 8–10 a.m.
WHERE: Kapukaulua (Baldwin Beach), we will meet by the main lot where the pavilion once stood
