Search advisory committee chair Rolf-Peter Kudritzki noted that, "We have been pleased to find excellent candidates for the dean‘s position among our pool of applicants and we look forward to the opportunity to introduce them to the campus community."

Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education Gary Ostrander added, "Programs at SOEST receive the largest numbers of extramural grants at Manoa and so it is important that we enlist world-class leadership to continue the excellent research and scholarship being conducted there."
