A typical courseload is 12-20 MCs worth of modules. 12 MCs is 3 modules; 30 MCs is 5 modules.

NUS Academic Calendar

UHM students may study at NUS for one or two semesters.

As NUS is currently facing a housing shortage, NUS exchange students are not guaranteed accommodation in NUS Hostels. To be eligible to apply online for university housing, you must be accepted as a full-time undergraduate exchange student.

NUS Accommodation Options (Hostels)

There is no homestay housing option at NUS, but there is a Host Family Programme that you can sign up for. It connects you with a local family that you can visit for occasional meals and cultural exchange.

MIX students register as full-time students at UH Manoa and pay regular UHM tuition. They do not pay overseas tuition. 

- Students who normally pay in-state UHM tuition continue to do while on MIX. 
- Students who normally pay out-of-state UHM tuition continue to do so while on MIX.
- Students who normally pay WUE tuition continue to do so while on MIX.

In addition to UHM tuition, MIX students are responsible for all of their living expenses, including health insurance, books/supplies, room & meals, personal expenses, airfare, local transportation, and any costs associated with obtaining a visa (if applicable). It is recommended that you research online to get an idea of how much these expenses will be.    

Since you are still a registered UHM student while on MIX, you continue to be eligible to receive financial aid and scholarships. If you submit a ‘MIX Student Budget for Financial Aid Purposes’ form, UHM financial aid will take into consideration your overseas living and travel expenses when awarding your grants/loans.

U.S. Citizens only need a valid passport to enter Singapore. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the end date of your intended stay.

Non-U.S. citizens can check what they need to enter Singapore on the Embassy of Singapore website.

International students studying in Singapore are required to have a student visa or, as it is called in Singapore, a “Student's Pass.”
