Inbound Students
How to Apply - Undergraduate Students
These instructions are for students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at their home university.
Note: Students who are pursuing combined BA/MA or integrated undergraduate/graduate degrees should apply to MIX as UNDERGRADUATE students.
Please complete the following application materials. Incomplete applications will be placed on hold until all items have been received.
1. Complete Two Online Application Forms:
- University of Hawai'i System Application
- Note: Students from Exchange Partner Universities are exempt from the application fee. If you are from an exchange partner university, please complete and SAVE the application but do not enter your credit card information or submit the application. Email uhmix@hawaii.edu to let us know that your application is completed and saved (please provide your "WebID" in the email); we will ensure that it is forwarded without payment. Hoakipa and Independent exchange students must pay the application fee (enter credit card information & submit application online).
2. Mail the following documents to Mānoa International Exchange:
- University Transcript(s) in English from all universities you have attended. Note: High School transcripts are NOT required for exchange students.
- Official TOEFL, IELTS, or TOEFL-ITP Score Report
- Supplementary Information Form for Undergraduate International Applicants Note: Not required for U.S. citizens.
- Copy of your valid Passport identification page

3. Email the following documents to uhmix@hawaii.edu:
- Copy of your valid Passport identification page
- Copy of your TOEFL score report (or equivalent)
- Copy of your university transcript
Students from Exchange Partner Universities must also be nominated to MIX by their home universities.
Application materials are due by:
April 1 for Fall semester (Aug-Dec)
Sept 15 for Spring semester (Jan-May)
