Stan Sheriff Center
| Combined Undergraduate & Advanced Degree Ceremony |
|
Guests needing disability assistance may park in the disability parking area on the third floor of the parking structure. From the third floor, a ramp leads directly to the main entrance of the Stan Sheriff Center. Please note that all parking is available on a first-come first-served basis. Parking will be available from 6:30 a.m.
The designated Passenger Drop-Off Area will be on the ground floor area between the parking structure and the Athletic Complex. Signs will be posted to direct drivers to this area. This drop off area will be closed when the Parking Structure has filled and/or during the period when traffic is modified for exiting. A secondary Passenger Drop-Off Area is located on Dole Street at the Legacy Path area. Passengers will not be allowed to be dropped off in the Restricted Parking Area behind the Stan Sheriff Center.
Persons with mobility needs will be able enter the arena without using the stairs as elevators are available both in the parking structure and in the athletics complex. As you enter the main entrance to the Stan Sheriff Center, you will arrive on the mezzanine level of the main concourse. The row of seats around the main concourse is reserved for persons with disabilities. Ushers will be available to assist you as needed.
A sign language interpreter will interpret the commencement ceremonies from the beginning introductions to the commencement address, and the closing remarks. The interpreter will not interpret the individual recognition of students. The interpreter will be positioned on stage, and visible on the large screen of the Jumbotron.
Braille and large-type programs are available upon request. If you or your guest requires such programs, be sure to ask an usher to assist you.
Degree candidates report to the Security Entrance of the Stan Sheriff Center, noted on the attached map. If you require special assistance in order to participate in the ceremony, you must contact KOKUA Services at 956-7511.
All graduates are escorted to the appropriate alphabetical sign on the athletic fields (A-L meet at the football practice field, M-Z meet at the soccer field). Signs will be posted on the soccer field, football practice field and softball field, and maps will be available in the programs. We recommend that you consider meeting guests with physical disabilities at a location closer to the Stan Sheriff Center. You are responsible for arranging to meet your family and friends.
